An hour of quoting,
done in a minute.

Pricing a floor used to travel from the sales person to the office, through manual calculation, into a hand formatted PDF. It took about an hour and it happened several times a week. The engine now does the same job in one step, and it has already carried nearly half a billion rupees of quotations.

The problem

Four people touched one number.

A quote began with a sales person on site and ended with a formatted PDF, and in between it passed through a relay of messages, a manual price calculation, a template edited by hand, and a final pass to adjust terms, warranty language and rounding. Each handover was a place for the number to drift, and the whole thing consumed about an hour every time.

Before
Requirements relayed from the sales person to the office
Rates looked up and applied by hand, per system and per brand
A PDF built by editing the previous quote's document
Terms, warranty text and rounding adjusted manually each time
No reliable record of what had been quoted, to whom, at what value
After
The requirement is entered once, by whoever has it
Rates resolve automatically, including per site price overrides
The document is generated, not edited
Terms, warranty, GST treatment and rounding applied by rule
Every quotation numbered, stored, searchable and revisable
How it works

One screen, from enquiry to document.

The engine knows the catalogue, the brands, the per site pricing and the company's own commercial terms. What is left for a person is the part only a person knows: who the customer is and how much floor there is.

Building a quotation

Everything below the area figure is computed. The quotation number, the tax treatment and the rounding are applied by rule rather than by memory.

01Choose the customer and the site. Both carry their own saved addresses and contacts.
02Pick the division, brand and system. The catalogue supplies the rate.
03Enter the area. Line items build themselves, including filler and line marking.
04GST treatment and rounding apply, and the numbered PDF is ready to send.

Volume is not the whole picture. The week of 13 July carried only four quotations but ₹34.55 crore of value, including the largest single quotation on the system. The final column is a part week to 4 August.

The value

What an hour a quote was costing.

Time returned to selling

At the stated baseline of about an hour per quotation, the 36 quotations already issued represent roughly 35 hours of skilled sales and office time returned in five weeks. That time did not disappear into administration, it went back into the work that wins the job.

The saving compounds with volume. It costs the same minute to quote ₹3,640 as it does to quote ₹23 crore.

A commercial record that did not exist

Before the engine there was no dependable answer to what had been quoted, to whom, or at what value. There is now: ₹47.54 crore across 15 companies and 18 sites, every quotation numbered, revisable and searchable, with amendments tracked against the original.

That record is the difference between guessing at a pipeline and reading one.

"What used to route through two people and several manual steps now happens in one, and the quote is already in the customer's inbox."

What changed
Methodology

Counts and values on this page are read directly from the production database on 4 August 2026. Rupee figures are the sum of the grand total recorded against each quotation, not an estimate of contract value won.

The one hour baseline for the previous manual process is stated by the business rather than measured by the system, and every time saving here is that stated figure multiplied by the number of quotations that actually occurred. The full working is available on request.
